1896 #
The Omard Methodist Episcopal Church is established and a building is built on land donated by Henry Shrier. John Duckworth, Sr. laid the cornerstone on May 22nd of this year.

1939 #
The Methodist Episcopal Church, the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, and the Methodist Protestant Church merged to form The Methodist Church.

1946 #
The Omard Methodist Church undergoes a major renovation with an added vestibule, basement, and other interior modifications. John (“Johnnie”) Duckworth, Jr. re-laid the cornerstone—first laid by his father.

1958 #
A wing is added to the Omard Methodist Church.

1968 #
The Methodist Church and the Evangelical United Brethren Church merged to create the United Methodist Church—the denomination to which Omard currently belongs.

1971 #
The Omard United Methodist Church celebrates their 75th anniversary.

1996 #
The Omard United Methodist Church celebrates their 100th anniversary.

2023 #
June 30th — The Omard United Methodist Church disaffiliates from the United Methodist Church and joins the Global Methodist Church denomination. The church is renamed to simply, “Omard Church”.

Omard Cemetery is located near the northwestern corner of section 35 in Flynn Township. The cemetery was founded sometime in the early 1890s on property that belonged to township resident Hector Snell. The cemetery is currently managed by Flynn Township.
Country Store #
The Omard Country Store (or Murray Blatt’s Store or the Omard Store) building still stands today but has not been in operation for several decades. The longest-owning proprietors of the store were Murray and Myrtle Blatt who owned the store from 1933 to the 1970s.
